Demara B. Bennett, Psy.D.,licensed clinical psychologist, established her practice, Florida Psychological Specialists, LLC, in her hometown of Satellite Beach.  She has extensive experience providing psychological and neuropsychological evaluation across the lifespan and specializes in the assessment and differential diagnosis of children from infancy through adolescence.  She returned to the area in 2007 after maintaining a busy practice for many years as a child psychologist with a behavioral health clinic in northern Wisconsin and providing psychological services for Florida State University's Center for Autism and Related Disabilities and FIRST WORDS Project. 

Dr. Bennett earned her doctorate in psychology, clinical specialization, from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida, in 1994 and has practiced as a licensed psychologist for fourteen years. Professional interests include child and family psychology with specialization in differential diagnosis of pediatric mental health concerns and pediatric neuropsychology. She provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of mood, anxiety, behavioral, cognitive, and developmental disorders. She has ongoing experience providing clinical supervision and consultation within multidisciplinary teams for community agencies.

Professional interests include psychological, neuropsychological, and developmental evaluation with specialization in evaluation of children from infancy through adolescence and treatment and promotion of wellness through individual and family psychotherapy. Dr. Bennett has extensive experience providing diagnostic clarification and treatment of complicated developmental, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral concerns. 

Dr. Bennett is an adjunct faculty member at the School of Psychology at FIT and is the clinical supervisor for the Autism Spectrum Disorders Diagnostic Team at Florida Tech's Scott Center for Autism Treatment.  She is a member of the Interagency Council of Brevard.  

Hobbies

Dr. Bennett enjoys spending time with her family and friends, horseback riding, kayaking, boating, swimming, snorkeling, biking, downhill skiing, hiking, and reading.
